Mock Draft 1.0 – 2022 NFL Draft

Hoodie Network

The draft came and went before the publishing of this article, but that actually gives us the opportunity to analyze this mock draft as “what this team should/could have done with the picks they had”. There are no trades in this mock draft, so this will give us a good look at where these prospects should have gone in the draft, in terms of talent and team needs.

Round 1

1 (1). Jacksonville Jaguars – EDGE Travon Walker, Georgia
I would go Aidan Hutchinson, but the Jaguars have been in love with Travon Walker for quite a while.

2 (2). Detroit Lions – EDGE Aidan Hutchinson, Michigan
The best EDGE in this class.

3 (3). Houston Texans – OT Ikem Ekwonu, North Carolina State
My OT2, but he has more guard versatility than my OT1 Evan Neal. Houston can move him inside if they need to without feeling like they missed with this pick.

4 (4). New York Jets – CB Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, Cincinnati
The best CB in the draft goes to the Jets, who have a giant hole at CB.

5 (5). New York Giants – OT Evan Neal, Alabama
Giants get to pick their favorite tackle to make sure Carolina doesn’t pick them.

6 (6). Carolina Panthers – OT Charles Cross, Mississippi State
The Panthers get the last of the top tier tackles.

7 (7). New York Giants – EDGE Kavyon Thibodeaux, Oregon
The Giants secure their choice of tackle and don’t have to worry about the Panthers taking one of the best defenders in this class.

8 (8). Atlanta Falcons – WR Garrett Wilson, Ohio State
Atlanta replaces a suspended Calvin Ridley with the best WR in this class, who just so happens to get compared to Calvin Ridley a lot.

9 (9). Seattle Seahawks – CB Derek Stingley Jr, LSU
Seattle needs secondary help, and they’re betting Stingley Jr will return to his old self.

10 (10). New York Jets – WR Jameson Williams, Alabama
Jets main needs are CB and WR? Check.

11 (11). Washington Commanders – WR Drake London, USC
Washington gets big and athletic Drake London to pair with Terry McLaurin. It’s a good thing Drake London is used to playing with below average QBs.

12 (12). Minnesota Vikings – CB Trent McDuffie, Washington
The Vikings need CB help more than anything. They get my CB2.

13 (13). Houston Texans – S Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame
The Texans need to collect as much talent as they can because this roster STINKS! They get the best prospect in this class. Personally, I hate that Kyle Hamilton has to go to one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL.

14 (14). Baltimore Ravens – DL Jordan Davis, Georgia
The perfect fit for the behemoth Jordan Davis. Ravens are licking their chops.

15 (15). Philadelphia Eagles – EDGE Jermaine Johnson II, Florida State
Philly gets one of the best EDGEs in this class.

16 (16). New Orleans Saints – OT Bernhard Raimann, Central Michigan
Saints replace Terron Armstead with a tackle who I have ranked a little higher than everyone else.

17 (17). Los Angeles Chargers – OT Trevor Penning, Northern Iowa
The Chargers can start Penning at RT and not have to worry about Trey Pipkins, who is decent but might not be the answer.

18 (18). Philadelphia Eagles – LB Devin Lloyd, Utah
Eagles pick up two defensive cornerstones early in this draft.

19 (19). New Orleans Saints – WR Chris Olave, Ohio State
New Orleans pairs OSU product Mike Thomas with OSU product Chris Olave. These two complement each other perfectly.

20 (20). Pittsburgh Steelers – QB Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh
Pickett can start right away for the Steelers, who hope to continue being a competitive football team.

21 (21). New England Patriots – WR Treylon Burks, Arkansas
The Patriots finally draft a good WR, breaking their draft curse.

22 (22). Green Bay Packers – WR Jahan Dotson, Penn State
Rodgers is going to be happy throwing to someone with hands like Jahan Dotson.

23 (23). Arizona Cardinals – CB Kaiir Elam, Florida
Arizona gets a CB that immediately steps in as CB1 on this weak secondary.

24 (24). Dallas Cowboys – DL Devonte Wyatt, Georgia
Dallas gets an impact player that will help right away.

25 (25). Buffalo Bills – LB Nakobe Dean, Georgia
Bills get LB2 in this draft and a guy who will be a leader on this defense.

26 (26). Tennessee Titans – OT Tyler Smith, Tulsa
Tyler Smith starts at guard right away, giving last year’s 2nd round pick Dillon Radunz the chance to start at RT.

27 (27). Tampa Bay Buccaneers – IOL Kenyon Green IOL, Texas A&M
The Bucs get their starting LG after losing Ali Marpet to retirement.

28 (28). Green Bay Packers  EDGE George Karlaftis, Purdue
The Packers get EDGE depth from a player who could start at EDGE on any team in the NFL.

29 (29). Kansas City Chiefs – EDGE David Ojabo, Michigan
Frank Clark doesn’t have many years left. Ojabo will be ready to start next year.

30 (30). Kansas City Chiefs – S Daxton Hill, Michigan
The Chiefs replace Tyrann Mathieu with Daxton Hill. Both players are extremely versatile, just in different ways.

31 (31). Cincinnati Bengals – IOL Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa
The Bengals get a top 10 player that will fix their o-line because nobody values taking a center any earlier.

32 (32). Detroit Lions – QB Malik Willis, Liberty
Detroit gets the QB many said they would take with pick 2, and they still get the fifth-year option on his contract.

Round 2

1 (33). Jacksonville Jaguars – S Lewis Cine, Georgia

2 (34). Detroit Lions – CB Andrew Booth Jr, Clemson

3 (35). New York Jets – LB Channing Tindall, Georgia

4 (36). New York Giants – IOL Zion Johnson, Boston College

5 (37). Houston Texans – LB Quay Walker, Georgia

6 (38). New York Jets – S Jaquan Brisker, Penn State

7 (39). Chicago Bears – IOL Luke Goedeke, Central Michigan

8 (40). Seattle Seahawks – OT Max Mitchell, Louisiana

9 (41). Seattle Seahawks – EDGE Drake Jackson, USC

10 (42). Indianapolis Colts – WR Christian Watson, North Dakota State

11 (43). Atlanta Falcons – DL Logan Hall, Houston

12 (44). Cleveland Browns – WR John Metchie III, Alabama

13 (45). Baltimore Ravens – CB Kyler Gordon, Washington

14 (46). Minnesota Vikings – EDGE Boye Mafe, Minnesota

15 (47). Washington Commanders – QB Matt Corral, Ole Miss

16 (48). Chicago Bears – DL Phidarian Mathis, Alabama

17 (49). New Orleans Saints – CB Roger McCreary, Auburn

28 (60). Tampa Bay Buccaneers – EDGE Arnold Ebiketie, Penn State

29 (61). San Francisco 49ers – EDGE Nik Bonitto, Oklahoma

30 (62). Kansas City Chiefs – EDGE Josh Pascal, Kentucky

31 (63). Cincinnati Bengals – TE Charlie Kolar, Iowa State

32 (64). Denver Broncos – CB Alontae Taylor, Tennessee

Round 3

1 (65). Jacksonville Jaguars – DL Travis Jones, Connecticut

2 (66). Detroit Lions – LB Brian Asamoah, Oklahoma
